WIOA Youth Program

Parkland’s WIOA Youth Program is designed to support students ages 16–24 who are out of school as they work to pass the GED test and earn the Illinois High School Diploma.

Students participating in the Youth Program with Parkland Adult Education will participate in a variety of career exploration activities and get a head start on their career journeys.

What to Expect

Students enrolled in the program can expect to:

  • Attend classes that prepare students to pass the GED exam
  • Attend career preparation classes that teach job search and employability skills
  • Explore career options and opportunities for paid work experiences
  • Participate in workshops covering topics like money management, time management, and test-taking skills
  • Receive intensive advising support, incentives, and supportive services in all elements of the youth program
  • Get a head start on transitioning to college or a career after passing the GED
