Nursing - ADN

Parkland College's Associate Degree Nursing Program prepares you for entry-level practice in a variety of inpatient, outpatient, community-based, and long-term settings. If you choose to pursue this degree to become a registered nurse, you should know that RN jobs are expected to grow 16 percent through 2024, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This growth, faster than the average for all occupations, will occur as more emphasis is placed on preventive care; as chronic conditions such as diabetes and obesity continue to rise; and as the baby boomer population lives longer and is more active, requiring increased healthcare. For career details, visit the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational site.

The Selective Admissions Process

NOTE: Nursing is a competitive selective admissions program. You may not take any NUR courses until you have been admitted to the Nursing Program. You must first complete an application to Parkland College. Acceptance to Parkland College does not indicate acceptance to the Nursing Program.
