Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
Step 1: Submit Transcripts
All transcripts must be sent from the
original institution directly to Parkland at
admissions@parkland.edu
- High School or GED (if high school transcripts were previously sent prior to graduation, have them re-sent).
- Any college transcripts other than Parkland. Request final fall transcripts be sent in January.
Step 2:
Verify Transcript Receipt
Call Admissions at 217/351-2482 to verify that they received your transcripts and to see if you need assessment testing. If you do not need assessment testing, you may skip step 3.
Step 3: Assessment Testing
Visit parkland.edu/assessment for more information on assessment testing.
- Reading – place into college-level reading or have earned a C or above in CCS 099
- English – must be eligible to enroll in ENG 101
Are you a non-native speaker of English?
If so, you must take the TOEFL or IELTS and achieve a minimum or greater score of 20-22-26-22 or 6.5-6.5-8-5.5, respectively. This must be completed prior to applying.
- Math – Place out of MAT 072 within the past 2 years or completion of college-level math within the past five years. Note: developmental math expires in two years.
- Prior to admission, KIN 186 must be completed.
- You must be eligible to enroll in BIO 121 before applying. This course has a prerequisite of any chemistry course with a C or better within the last three years in either college or high school.
- Science courses used for scoring expire after five years (BIO, CHE, and PHY)
Step 4: Meet with an Advisor
Schedule appointment with an Academic Success Advisor for Pre-Health Professions. Visit room U267, call 217/351-2219, or book an appointment online to review assessment scores and create a plan of study.
