Who We Are
Applied Media Promotions (AMP) is a student-staffed strategic communications firm operated by the Arts, Media, and Social Sciences department at Parkland College, and housed under the umbrella of Parkland's Entrepreneurial Network (PEN.) We provide students with the opportunity to enhance their writing, critical thinking, creative, and technical skills by producing promotional materials for nonprofit organizations in the Champaign-Urbana community.
Our History
Since launching in Spring 2014 AMP has worked with the following Parkland organizations: Parkland Entrepreneurial Network, Presentation Center, PCTV, Study Abroad Program, Business Club, Staerkel Planetarium, Together We Achieve, Engineering and Science Technologies, Business Club, The Prospectus, Phi Theta Kappa, WPCD, Perimeter Road Sound Recordings, Science Club, Student Life voting project, and Project Read.
In Spring 2015 AMP began working with non-profits in the Champaign-Urbana community. Since that time AMP has worked with the following non-profit clients: Wesley Food Pantry, Illinois Radio Reader, Bottom Line Diaper Bank, C-U Early Learning, Champaign Farmers Market, The Land Connection, National Society of Arts and Letters, Central Illinois Chapter, YWCA, Courage Connection, CUTC, MLK Countrywide Celebration, CUJF Holocaust Education Center, C-U Kiwanis, and Orphans Treasure Box.
What We Do
AMP provides clients with strategic solutions to promotional challenges related to:
- Branding and rebranding
- Event planning and promotion
- Advertisement creation
- Media relations
- Social media planning and instruction
We are happy to accept proposals from any not-for-profit organization in the Champaign-Urbana area. We are unable to work with for-profit businesses at this time.
Preference is given to proposals that encourage students to think strategically. Projects that require students to develop comprehensive promotional plans within 16 week semesters are ideal.
