Parkland College has a number of programs and services on its campus that are designed to support your academic growth and intellectual engagement. Our goal is to make the challenge of college exciting, yet manageable, for you. 

Fall 2024 Semester

Academic Calendar
  • Early registration for continuing students: March 25
  • Open registration begins: April 1
  • Last day to register for classes that begin the week of August 19: August 18
  • Full-semester and first 8-week classes begin: August 19
  • Deadline to request auditing a class: first week of the class session
  • Last day to register for classes that begin the week of September 9: September 8
  • 13-week classes begin: September 9
  • Withdrawal deadline for those classes ending the week of October 11: October 4
  • Deadline to petition for fall graduation: November 1
  • Deadline to request Credit/No Credit: the end of the first week of the class
  • Second 8-week (midterm) classes begin: October 14
  • Withdrawal deadline for those classes ending the week of December 6: November 27
  • Last day of classes: December 6
  • Final examinations: December 9–13
    • Campus holidays and closures:
      • Labor Day (college closed): September 2
      • Thanksgiving recess (begins at 5 pm November 27; college closed): November 27 – December 1

  • Registration for continuing students: March 25

Tuition and Financial Aid

Important financial deadlines:

  • July 30 - First day bookstore vouchers are issued
  • September 20 - Last day to use bookstore vouchers
  • September 27 - First financial aid refunds are mailed/deposited
  • October 25 - Midterm second refunds are mailed/deposited (Fall Only Loans)

    For classes that begin the week of August 19:

    • July 29 - Tuition due
    • August 18 - Last day to register
    • August 25 - Last day to drop with no record and 100% refund

    For classes that begin the week of September 9:

    • August 19 - Tuition due
    • September 8 - Last day to register
    • September 15 - Last day to drop with no record and 100% refund

    For classes that being the week of October 14:

    • September 23 - Tuition due
    • October 13 - Last day to register
