Parkland College Trustees Hear Marketing Report, Approve FY25 Purchases

The Parkland College Board of Trustees approved key purchases ahead of the new fiscal year.

The Parkland College Board of Trustees approved key purchases ahead of the new fiscal year and reviewed the college's marketing strategy at its regular meeting Wednesday.

Trustees heard a monthly report from President Pamela Lau; legislative updates from Stephanie Stuart, vice president for strategic partnerships and workforce innovation; and the annual strategic marketing report from Ruthie Counter, director of marketing and public relations.

Additionally, the board voted on employment contracts for two college administrators. It renewed a three-year contract for Stuart through June 2027 and the contract for Tracy Wahlfeldt, executive director of the Parkland College Foundation, through April 30, 2025.

In other business, trustees approved:

  • the purchase agreement for the Infobase database subscription, $23,023
  • the purchase agreement for the CARLI databases renewal through the University of Illinois System of Urbana, $63,745
  • contracting with A&R Services of Urbana to provide replacement of the IT Server Room condensing unit, $66,860
  • the bid for printing and bulk mailing services from Woodward Printing, Platteville, Wisc., $54,304
  • to extend the audit services for FY2025 with FORVIS of Decatur, $68,900
  • increasing the limit on contracts for small capital projects from $20,000 to $35,000
  • reappointment of Meyer Capel as legal counsel for the Board for FY 2025, $250 monthly retainer
  • the purchase of:
    • avionic systems from Flightstar of Savoy, $152,334
    • AGS Prime Platform Subscription and Annual Strengthening Community College Program Management System Subscription Services from American Government Services, LLC, Hudson, Wisc., $60,000
    • services from Rock Gate Capital, DBA 160 Driving Academy, Evanston, $1,100,000
    • services from DBI DataLynk, Atlanta, Ga., not to exceed $60,000
    • services from Club Europa of Urbana, $134,000
    • services from Grey & Associates of Champaign, $30,000
    • services from ProTrain, Raleigh, N.C., $30,000
    • services from Strategic Development Institute of Champaign, $50,000
    • furniture from Krueger International, Green Bay, Wisc. $60,000
