Registration Now Open for Summer Start 2025 at Parkland College

Registration is now open for Parkland College’s Summer Start 2025.
The program is for low-income, first-generation, and minority students in grades 9–12 from Urbana, Unit 4, and Rantoul districts during the 2025–2026 school year.
Summer Start includes paid career exploration and college readiness, with students earning up to $250 for completing one of two sessions.
Session one is scheduled June 2–12, and session two is June 16–26. Program highlights include:
- Hands-on career exploration activities
- Development of computer skills and college readiness strategies
- Opportunities to connect with peers and make new friends
Classes are held Monday through Thursday on the Parkland College campus, with the following session times based on grade level:
- Juniors and seniors: 9 a.m. to noon
- Freshmen and sophomores: 1–4 p.m.
Students from all school districts are encouraged to apply. Students from outside of Unit 4, Urbana, and Rantoul districts will be considered for a spot, as space allows. Only one session per summer for each student is allowed.
NOTE: MTD vouchers will be available for students who need help with transportation to and from the Parkland College campus.
