Parkland Names Jason Gough Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Schaumburg native was Illinois State University Women's Soccer assistant coach
Parkland Athletic Director Brendan McHale has named Jason Gough Head Coach of Parkland Women's Soccer. Gough comes to the Cobras from the women’s soccer program at Illinois State University where he was an assistant coach this past year.
"We are very fortunate to add Jason Gough to our talented family of Parkland College coaches,' McHale said. "We are confident Jason will bring a style of play to our women's soccer program that will be exciting to watch. His prior experiences at both the junior college and the Division I levels have given him an advantage to help prepare our Cobras women's soccer team for each season moving forward."
At Illinois State, Gough primarily served as goalkeeper coach, holding that position for the spring and fall seasons of 2019. Under his direction, Redbirds goalkeepers recorded 10 shutouts, with a 1.20 goals-against average, during the fall season. The program's primary keeper was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Team and to the MVC All-Tournament Team, and she was honored four times as MVC Player of the Week. In addition to developing and implementing goalkeeper training, Gough coordinated goalkeeper camps for high school athletes and youth players.

Prior to assisting the staff at Illinois State, Gough served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois, from August 2017-February 2019. His responsibilities included: recruiting both local and international athletes, match analysis, development of team tactics, and placement of departing sophomores at four-year colleges/universities. Gough helped lead the Hawks to a program-best record of 10-4-1 during the 2018 season that also saw the lowest goals against average (GAA) in program history.
Gough's collegiate playing experience includes three seasons at St. Ambrose University, where he was a goalkeeper from 2010-2012. As a Fighting Bee, Gough received the Coach's MVP and Player’s MVP honors after the 2012 season.
Gough has two degrees from Illinois State University, a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management (2015) and a Master of Science in Sport Management (2019). He is in the process of obtaining his National "D" License from the United States Soccer Federation.
A native of Schaumburg, Illinois, Gough attended Conant High School. He played as a goalkeeper with Schaumburg United for six years.
