National Library Week Events at Parkland Library

Events April 8 to 12 with theme "Libraries = Strong Communities"

National Library Week, sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the United States, is now in its 61st year. Parkland College Library has been observing the week for several years, with events designed to get students, faculty, and community members involved and excited about the library.

This year's theme is "Libraries = Strong Communities." The public is invited to join the Parkland College community April 8–12 for any or all of the events listed below to celebrate another year of learning!

Coffee Kickoff
Monday, April 8
Join us 8 to noon for free coffee and tea in the library. Free donuts starting at 8 a.m. while supplies last. Check out a book or view books for sale.

Dine and Discuss: Libraries=Strong Communities
Tuesday, April 9
Come to Room R227 in the library from noon to 1 p.m. for a presentation, discussion, and free food.
Game Day
Wednesday, April 10
Choose from a variety of board games to play in the library. Take a break and have some fun!

Parkland READ Poster Unveiling
Thursday, April 11, noon, Library Reading Lounge
For the 15th year in a row, Parkland Library has commissioned its own READ poster featuring someone employed at Parkland College and designed by a Parkland College student. Join us to find out who receives the honor this year!

3D Printer Open House
Friday, April 12, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., Library's 3D printing area
