Free Workshop to Explore Electrical, HVAC, Industrial Careers

Parkland College to host free career exploration workshop for area high school students featuring HVAC and Industrial Technology programs.

Parkland College will host a free career exploration workshop for area high school students featuring its Electrical Power, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Industrial Technology programs.
 
Led by Parkland Career and Technical Education division instructors working in these industries, the career exploration workshop will be held Friday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Parkland College's M wing on the main campus, 2400 W. Bradley Ave. 
 
Students will experience hands-on learning opportunities, including:  

  • constructing, testing, and troubleshooting general lighting circuits in Parkland's Residential Wiring Lab. 
  • learning HVAC maintenance and fabrication in Parkland's HVAC Lab. 
  • participating in repairing mechanical systems in Parkland's Manufacturing Lab. 

This workshop requires active student participation. A safety release is required for each student which must be filled out at registration. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited.
