Allie Lindemann Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Champaign Central standout takes over the reins from her father, retiring Coach Mike Lindemann

Parkland Athletic Director Brendan McHale has named Allie Lindemann head coach of Parkland Women's Basketball, promoting the two-year Cobra assistant coach. Lindemann takes over the reins after her father, Mike Lindemann, led the program for the previous six seasons.

"We are very fortunate to have Allie Lindemann leading the future of our Parkland College Women's Basketball program," McHale said. "Allie's knowledge and passion for the game confirmed she is the right person for this job. We look forward to the continued excellence Allie will bring to our Cobra Women's Basketball team."

After serving as a volunteer assistant coach under Mike Lindemann from 2011 to 2013, Allie Lindemann returned to the Parkland bench for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons as an assistant coach. During the past two seasons, she has been responsible for recruiting and player development.

"I would like to thank Athletic Director Brendan McHale and Parkland College for the opportunity to lead Parkland Women's Basketball," Lindemann said. "Parkland is a very special place with a strong tradition of excellence, both academically and across all athletic programs.  I look forward to continuing to create a championship culture both on and off the court."

Prior to joining the Parkland coaching staff ahead of the 2017-18 season, Lindemann made stops at University High School and Hamilton Community College following a two-year stint as a volunteer assistant at Parkland. Taking her first head coaching job in 2010, Lindemann led University High School to a 44-14 combined record and an IHSA Sectional Championship appearance in 2012, and she was named the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District Coach of the Year. The success earned her an assistant coach position at Hamilton College, where she helped guide the Continentals to two NESCAC Championship quarterfinal appearances in four seasons.

Having also played at the community college level, Lindemann began her collegiate career at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was a two-time All-Region selection. Making the jump to Division I, Lindemann continued her career at Siena College and proved to be prolific from three-point range. Knocking down 68 threes in both her junior and senior seasons, Lindemann averaged double-figure scoring with 10.6 points as a junior and 11.2 points per game as a senior. A model student athlete, Lindemann was given the team's Joe Hogan Award for desire, attitude, and dedication.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, Lindemann played high school basketball at Champaign Central, earning IHSA Third Team All-State in 2006 and setting the area record for career points by any player in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Lindemann earned her bachelor's degree from Siena and her master's degree from the University of Illinois.
