Melinda McIntosh received her A.A. at Parkland College, B.F.A. in Painting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, M.A. at Eastern Illinois University, and M.F.A. in Printmaking at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to teaching foundation drawing and design she also teaches workshops on bookmaking, printmaking and Suminagashi through Parkland Community Education.
As a practicing artist, Melinda feels it is important to continue her education and does so by attending various workshops in printmaking and bookmaking at institutions such as Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and Columbia College, Chicago Center for the Book and Arts.
She has received several exhibition awards and has work in collections at Eastern Illinois University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside among others. Melinda’s work has also been exhibited at the Seoul Space International Print Biennial in Seoul, Korea. Her work can be seen locally at the Cinema Gallery in Urbana and Prairie Fire Glass Studio and Gallery in Monticello.
