Special Scholarships

Parkland College Academic Opportunity Scholarship for Underrepresented Students

Ten tuition and fee scholarships are awarded annually to high school seniors who are academically talented and who represent cultural, ethnic or racial underrepresented groups at Parkland College. This scholarship will cover 50% of full-time tuition and fees for a maximum of two consecutive years (including two summer terms).  Applications are sent to District 505 high school guidance counselors.

Parkland College Athletics Scholarship

Tuition and fee waivers for athletes in the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s baseball, women’s softball, women’s volleyball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer.  Contact the Athletics Department, Room P204.

Parkland College Board of Trustees Scholarship

Awarded to the top 10 percent of graduating seniors from each high school in District 505 who attend Parkland full-time immediately after graduation from high school. This scholarship will cover 50% of full-time tuition and fees for a maximum of two consecutive years (including two summer terms).  Recipients are recommended by high school principals or guidance counselors.

Parkland College Fine and Applied Arts Activities Scholarship

This scholarship will cover 50% of full-time tuition and fees for high school graduates, or those with high school equivalency, who participate in Fine and Applied Art activities.  Applications are available in the Fine and Applied Arts Department, C120.

Parkland College Music-Scholarship

This scholarship will cover 50% of full-time tuition and fees for incoming high school graduates who are majoring in music.  Please visit Fine and Applied Arts, C120, for more information.

Parkland College Student Activities Scholarship

Tuition waivers to high school graduates, or those with high school equivalency, who participate in student activities.  Applications are available in the Office of Student Life, Room U111.

Parkland College Student Trustee and Student Government President Scholarship

Two-semester partial tuition waiver for students holding these elected positions.  Information is available in the Office of Student Life, Room U111.

Parkland College Theatre Scholarship

This scholarship will cover 50% of full-time tuition and fees for high school graduates who are majoring in theatre. May be renewed for an additional year.  Please visit Fine and Applied Arts, C120, for more information.

 

Private donor scholarships can also be beneficial in funding your college education. Local community organizations, clubs, businesses, banks and churches may offer scholarship opportunities. You are encouraged to contact these organizations as well as your high school guidance office for potential scholarships.
