The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning seeks to engage faculty in learning about the complexities, challenges, and rewards of teaching in higher education. A unit of Academic Services, the Center supports faculty in the creation and upkeep of their professional development plans, assists in the coordination of faculty study groups, and promotes a culture of feedback.
In faculty study groups, instructors can learn together in small cohorts, focusing on topics such as inclusive learning environments, classroom and program assessment, student engagement, emerging grading formats, Universal Design for Learning, teaching with technology, and leadership development.
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning prioritizes the professional development topics identified annually by PCA’s Professional Development Committee and coordinates the college-wide events offered on Professional Development Day each February.
