Public Transportation

Many students qualify for reduced-fee or free rides with the Champaign-Urbana-Mass Transit District. In addition to serving Champaign-Urbana-Savoy, CU-MTD is the transportation provider for University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff as well as Unit 4 and District 116 middle and high school students. Bookstore

Parkland College Bookstore is a local bookstore serving the students, faculty and staff of Parkland College with pride. Our primary goal is to ensure students are able to obtain the course materials they need at reasonable prices. We also provide many other items to support your academic career and school spirit. Please visit the Parkland College Bookstore webpage or stop by the store (first floor, student union/U-Wing) during business hours.

Honors Program

The Parkland College Honors Program offers unique educational opportunities and scholarships each semester to students motivated to challenge themselves academically; find an outlet for a special academic interest or talent; or simply continue their commitment to scholastic achievement. Applied Media Promotions (AMP)

Applied Media Promotions (AMP) is a student-staffed strategic communications firm operated by the Fine and Applied Arts Department at Parkland College, and housed under the umbrella of Parkland's Entrepreneurial Network (PEN.) We provide students with the opportunity to enhance their writing, critical thinking, creative, and technical skills by producing promotional materials for nonprofit organizations in the Champaign-Urbana community. Center for Community Engagement 

The mission of the Parkland College Center for Community Engagement is to support and promote the active engagement of the College’s students, faculty, and staff in partnership with the communities of Illinois Community College District 505. 

In collaboration with the community-based organizations of District 505, and through such forms of community engagement as service-learning and volunteerism, the Center for Community Engagement not only supports Parkland College’s commitment to “engage the community in learning,” but also help fulfill our commitment to value “active citizenship.”

Perimeter Road Sound Recordings 

Perimeter Road is Parkland College's student-staffed record label. We provide students who are interested in the music business an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they learn in the classroom to real-world experiences. Selected up and coming musicians are given an opportunity to record, release and promote their music free of charge. Visit the Perimeter Road webpage for more information.

Study Abroad

Study Abroad Parkland College recognizes the profound importance of changes in the world’s political, economic, cultural, and natural environments. Parkland College encourages students to explore the world and discover the benefits of living and studying in another country through a variety of study abroad programs.  In addition living abroad the Study Abroad area offers virtual study abroad programs for students.  In order to offer more programming to students, staff and faculty Parkland’s study abroad program works closely with the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs, and Community Colleges for International Development. In addition to supporting students, the study abroad office helps develop and promote opportunities for faculty, and staff to work and study abroad.


Extra-Curricular

Athletics

Parkland College Cobras have 9 intercollegiate athletic teams that compete in: Baseball, Basketball-Women’s and Men’s, Golf-Men’s, Soccer-Women’s and Men’s, Softball-Women,  Volleyball-Women, and Cross-Country and Half Marathon-Women.  Our teams are well respected both regionally and nationally. Parkland College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA Division II), also a member of Region 24 and the Mid-West Athletic Conference (M-WAC).  Our Cobras teams have earned 8 NJCAA National Championships, multiple national runners-up, numerous Region 24 Championships and M-WAC Championships in all our sports.  Admission to all Cobra sporting events is free to all Parkland College students, faculty, and staff (Parkland College ID is required).

Clubs/Organizations

Parkland College offers over 20 student clubs and organizations designed to help students make new friends, get involved in community service, and explore their specific interests and talents. Fitness Center

Parkland College Fitness Center is one of our most prized gems on campus and is an impressive facility. Our state-of-the-art fitness center has multiple cardio machines, free weights, and the ability to work one-on-one with a personal trainer by appointment.

Student Government

The Student Government (SGA) is a body of elected student leaders who serve the Parkland Student body by promoting a campus that has high standards of academic integrity and citizenship. The SGA promotes student spirit, communication, and fellowship among students and provides student input on campus programs, policies, and activities. Student Leadership Academy

Develop your leadership skills through workshops, intensive leadership experiences, hands-on activities, and in-depth discussions. This leadership certificate program prepares Parkland students to take on leadership roles in the classroom, in their jobs, and in personal endeavors.
