The 2005 Parkland Art and Design Faculty Exhibition offered and interesting insight into the mind of the practicing artist. Using a wide scope of materials and exploring various ideas, the college’s art faculty members created works “in the spirit of discovery and expression,” says Lisa Costello, gallery director.
Art enthusiasts enjoyed a diverse collection of artwork—including painting, ceramics, metals, photography, design, and new media—from both new and returning faculty. Participating artists included Louis Ballard, Chris Berti, Lisa Costello, Marsha Daniels, John Havlik, Steven Hudson, Robert Laible, Donald Lake, Miriam Martincic, Melinda McIntosh, Craig McMonigal, Laura O’Donnell, Denise Seif, Peggy Shaw, Phil Smith, Joan Stolz, Matthew Watt, and Paul Young.
The annual Parkland Art and Design Faculty exhibit has always been an important one for the Art Gallery. Not only does it allow the students at Parkland to see the work of their art instructors, but it also provides the college an opportunity to showcase some of the talented people who teach at the institution.
