New Parkland College ID cards
are issued without charge to all students during initial registration.
It is each student's responsibility to obtain
a Parkland ID card. All that is required is a picture ID such as a state
ID or a driver's license and enrollment in classes.
The first card is free.
However, a five dollar fee is charged for the first three replacement
cards and a fifteen dollar fee is charged for the fourth
and up replacement cards.
The student should carry the Parkland
ID at all times. Why should you have a Parkland ID? You will need it:
- To
present for identification when asked
- To pick-up a student loan,
grant, or student employment checks
- Checking out materials and
equipment in the Library
- For business and financial
aid transactions including book vouchers
- Voting in student elections
and petitioning to run for office
- To apply for the roommate listing
- You might be asked for it before
you use a computer lab
- Admission to athletic events
is free
- To get discounts on Parkland
theatre and planetarium tickets
- To obtain discount rates for
field trips and tours
- The Fitness Center and some
Physical Education classes require it for attendance
- To petition to graduate
- For
book buy back at the Parkland Bookstore
- To take certain licensing or
assessment tests
- To cash a $10 personal check
at the cashier's office (it will cost you a quarter)
- You may need it for
many other college functions and activities. For further
