Former Parkland College Basketball star Matt Neaville has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Player of the Year. The senior helped lead Union University, an NAIA school in Jackson, Tennessee, to a #7 ranking and an over-all record of 25-5 and a 14-2 record in route to the TranSouth title this seaon.

Neaville, a 6-foot-0 senior from Urbana, Il, was named the TranSouth Player of the Week twice this season. He led the NAIA in scoring a year ago and was the conference Newcomer of the Year as a junior. Neaville has averaged 17.2 points per game while finishing second in assists with 118. He has shot 38-percent from three-point range and has hit 110 three pointers this season. He ranks third in the NAIA with
3.7 made three pointers per game.

While at PC, Neaville broke the NJCAA record for 3-pointers in a game when he drained 17 of 26 shots from behind the arc in a game against Malcolm X. He stands 2nd all-time in the NJCAA for three-pointers made in a career (261), and fourth in made three's in a season with (158). He holds all three records at Parkland an All-Conference and All-Region selection his sophomore year at PC.
