Dr. Amy Penne, who hails from Tuscola, Illinois, is inspired both by her colleagues at Parkland and by stories of little people who do great things. Teaching college freshmen to think critically and communicate effectively is one of the highlights of her career at Parkland, which she began in 2001. Besides teaching, she is also steering committee co-chair for Parklands 2012 North Central Self-Study for reaccreditation.
Amy enjoys reading, sewing, and thinking at her favorite vacation spot, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. You might also find her enjoying the cuisine at Doms Italian Patio in Champaign; listening to Gregorian chant, bluegrass, classic rock, or Coltrane music; or wishing I could run off and be a cloistered nun. On that note (in the words of her favorite quote, from Hamlet), the rest is silence.
