Amy Pape
Degree: AA
Major: Psychology
Class Year: 2012

Coming from Tuscola, I struggled at first making the transition to college; TRiO counselors showed me how to work my.parkland, how to check my financial aid online, which math professor would work best with my learning style,
and much more. They even helped me research online colleges I could apply to after Parkland!

TRiO’s workshops on time/stress management and great one-on-one academic tutoring really helped me get through any struggles with classes. Their cultural activities are nice, too; when you’re done, you take something away from them. I went to an etiquette dinner, a kabuki
theatre production, and other interesting places.

I plan to study for my master’s degree in psychology starting in the fall and, as a first-generation college graduate, that makes me pretty proud.
