An international student at Parkland College who graduated with honors from Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in Indonesia, Dewi Kusumawati plans to work in her own country after leaving Parkland. She wants to become an entrepreneur and knows it will be a challenging job. Dewi considers Professor Mark Kesler as her best instructor in Parkland and enjoys attending meetings of the Parkland Business Club. She believes parents are “the only support behind everybody’s success” and adds that her own parents inspire her a great deal.
Dewi likes to visit Market Place Shopping Center in Champaign; has a craze for badminton and the PBIS (Badminton Team of Indonesia); and considers graduating at the top of her class from UNS in 2009 as her proudest academic achievement thus far.
Although she will return to her country soon, Dewi will remember these days at Parkland College as some of her best.
