The Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act 2000 requires that colleges and universities to inform students and employees how to learn the identity of registered sex offenders on campus. This law contains the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act and becomes effective October 23,2002

Sex offender information is compiled by the Illinois States Police. The States Police maintains a website that allows anyone to search their sex offender database online. To learn the identity of registered sex offenders on or near campus, or anywhere in Illinois, visit the Sex Offender Database. Once there you can search by city, county, or zip code.
