1)All motor vehicles are subject to all state motor vehicle laws as specified in the motor vehicle code and Parkland College traffic regulations. The college assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to private property.

2)All vehicles must park in spaces marked by double white lines. Parking is not permitted on perimeter roads, adjacent to curbs, or on north athletic fields.

3)The maximum speed on campus is 20mph. In areas of pedestrian traffic, cars must be driven more slowly.

4)All traffic signs must be obeyed.

5)Parking is not permitted at crosswalks.

6)Parking or standing is prohibited on all campus roads at all times.
7)In parking areas, a vehicle must be parked in only one space, leaving clear access to adjacent spaces and without blocking driving lanes or creating a hazard for other drivers.

8)Only Parkland College vehicles may be parked in the spaces marked "NO PARKING, COLLEGE VEHICLES ONLY."

9)Only persons with a physical disability requiring close access to the building and with a state-issued parking permit may park in the spaces marked "HANDICAPPED PARKING."

10)Bicycles must be parked in bicycle racks placed on campus.

11)It is impossible to mark with signs all areas of college property where parking is prohibited. Parking or driving is definitely prohibited on grass plots, tree plots, construction areas, sidewalks, or any place which will mar the landscaping of the campus, create a safety hazard, or interfere with the use of college facilities.

12)The responsibility of finding a legal parking space rests with the motor vehicle operator. Lack of space is not considered a valid excuse for violation of regulations.

13)Any motor vehicle parked in violation of college traffic regulations or abandoned on campus is subject to removal and impounding at the expense of the owner or operator. The term "abandonment," as it relates to motor vehicles parked on Parkland College property, shall mean any one or more of the following conditions:

a. Any vehicle which has not been moved for five days and whose owner or other claimant the college is unable to locate.
b. Any vehicle which has not been moved for seven days, and the identified owner or claimant has refused to move it.
c. Any vehicle on which valid license plates are not displayed.
d. Any vehicle which is in inoperative condition caused by the removal of necessary parts or a wrecked condition.

14)All motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents on campus must be reported immediately to the Department of Public Safety. The Department of Public Safety may be reached by calling 351-2369.
