It is the policy of Parkland College to keep its faculty, staff and students informed of all matters concerning safety and security.

The Department of Public Safety has developed a plan to notify the campus population. This plan includes, but is not limited to, notification by the Parkland College Calendar of Events in the college newspaper, The Prospectus; the college radio station, WPCD-FM 88.7; distribution of posters or flyers; use of campus wide e-mail or web page.

The level of notification depends upon the type and severity of the incident. To increase the awareness of the campus community to various incidents on campus and to crime prevention, the department lists reported incidents in the campus newspaper.
