To reach the Planetarium from Interstates 57 and 72:
- From I-57, take Exit 235A to Champaign;
- On I-72, proceed east into Champaign (I-72 ends in Champaign);
- At the first traffic light, turn left onto Country Fair Drive;
- At the second traffic light, turn left onto Bradley Avenue;
- At the first traffic light, turn right into the Parkland College entrance.
- As you come into campus, turn left onto the perimeter drive.
- The planetarium is located on the west side of Parkland College, adjacent to the Theatre.
- Go past the red barns and the C-parking lot.
- The Planetarium is a large, cylindrical brick building.
- There's a bus unloading area in front of the Planetarium.
To reach the Planetarium from Interstate 74:
- Take Exit 181 to Champaign;
- At the first traffic light, turn south (left from the east and right from the west) onto Prospect Avenue;
- Travel south to Bradley Avenue and turn right;
- At the third traffic light, turn right into the Parkland College entrance.
Parking
The Staerkel Planetarium is situated on the west side of the Parkland Campus. It may be located by the distinctive triangular Cultural Center open-air arch that connects the Parkland Theatre and the Staerkel Planetarium.
School Buses
Please have your driver(s) pull into the circle drive in front of the Planetarium on the west side of Parkland College. After the riders of disembarked, buses may be parked in the "C3" or "M1" parking lots. For safety purposes all vehicles should pull into the circle drive for passenger loading and unloading.
