Residents planning to enroll at Parkland College can get free help preparing for the required college reading, writing, and math course placement tests this fall.
COMPASS is an untimed, computerized test that helps the college place students into courses that are right for them. Residents may attend a free two-hour COMPASS Test Prep Workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.in the college's Center for Academic Success, room D120. Workshops will continue through Dec. 11.
Participants will learn test-taking strategies; receive personalized attention to refresh their reading and writing skills; and build greater confidence in reaching their educational goals. While math skills will not be a focus of the workshop, materials to help students prepare for that portion of the test will be available.
Reserve a spot at one of the free workshops by contacting the Center for Academic Success at 217/353-2005 or 217/351-2441.
