The Parkland College Volleyball team added some individual recognition to go along with their team accomplishments as Cobra players swept the post-season awards. Sophomore middle-hitter Shelby Geers (Saint Joseph-Ogden) was named the Region 24 and M-WAC Player of the Year. She is joined on the 1st Team All-Region and All-Conference team by sophomore Megan Scharnett (Centennial HS), and freshman Megan Casagrande (St. Thomas More). Casagrande was also selected Freshman of the Year in the M-WAC.
Also earning recognition were Jessica Galotta (Mother McAuley) who was selected 2nd Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-MWAC and Ally Krenz who as an Honorable Mention All-Region choice. Parkland head coach Cliff Hastings was named M-WAC Coach of the Year and shared All-Region Coach of the Year honors with Jim Dietz who guided Lincoln Land to their first national tournament appearance in school history. Parkland finished the regular season at 42-7 and will be the #3 seed at the National Tournament starting on November 15.
