Area landowners can get tips on how to better manage their farmland and increase their economic return, during a farmland owners educational session hosted by Parkland College.
Sponsored by US Farm Lease and the Parkland Business and Agri-Industries department, the meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Parkland's Tony Noel Ag Technology Applications Center. Educational meetings for farmland owners have been scheduled around the state of Illinois.
Program presenters will discuss useful information for landowners in a clear and easy-to-understand format. Topics will include current farmland lease trends; farmland values and investment returns; profitability; determining your Illinois soil productivity indexes; protecting your farm's soil nutrient bank; and estate planning. US Farm Lease will also present a web-based tool to help landowners achieve fair market lease arrangements and help farmers find land available for rent.
There is no charge for the program, but pre-registration is requested. To register, interested landowners should contact Kevin Brooks at 877/232-4002 or email
