National Library Week Events at Parkland Library

Parkland College Library to host events for April 13-19 celebration

National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the United States. Parkland College Library has been celebrating for many years, with events designed to get students, faculty, and community members involved and excited about the library.
 
This year's theme is "Lives change @ your library."  Please join the Parkland College community for any or all of the events listed below to celebrate another year of learning!

Poetry Celebration
Tuesday, April 15 (Time TBD), Library Reading Lounge
Poetry lovers! Spend some time with Parkland College students and employees as they share their creative side. (Students and employees interested in participating should contact Sarah Meilike at smeilike@parkland.edu for details.)

Cupcake-A-Book Contest
Wednesday, April 16,  10 a.m.–2 p.m., College Center
Cupcake adaptions of popular (and/or favorite) books will be on display in the College Center. Vote for your favorite with a donation of any amount to support the Wesley Food Pantry at Parkland. The cupcake design with the highest donated amount will win a prize. (Students and employees interested in entering the contest should contact Sarah Meilike at smeilike@parkland.edu for details.)

Parkland READ Poster Unveiling
Thursday, April 17, noon, Library Reading Lounge
The public is invited to join us for the 10th annual  event. The title of the 2014-15 Parkland Reads college-wide book selection will also be revealed.
