Enjoy beautiful custom vehicles on display, autocross runs, and the newest feature—a swap meet—during the 14th annual Parkland Motorsports Car Show, May 4 at the M parking lots of Parkland College.
The car show is free and open to the public. Parkland’s new Parkhill Applied Technology Center, home of the Automotive, Collision Repair, Welding, and Industrial Technology
programs, will also be open to the public to tour.
Community residents are invited to display their own classic and late-model custom cars, stock cars, trucks, and other vehicles at the show. Registration before the event is $10; registration on the day of the car show, between 10:30 a.m. and noon, is $15.
Judging of registered vehicles begins at noon, with student choice awards announced at 3 p.m. and participant vote awards announced at 4 p.m.
The car show includes food, music, and a Champaign County Sports Car Club autocross event (extra fee); the newest feature, a daylong swap meet, will take place in the W2 parking lot, just north of the Parkhill ATC. Project cars, auto parts, car memorabilia, and other auto-related items will be available for sale or trade.
Swap meet participants may pre-register by calling Zac Keeter at 217/493-4751 or may register between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on the day of the show. Registration for the swap meet is $5 for a 20 by 20 space; space is limited, so register early.
This event is sponsored by the Parkland Motorsports Club. Registration fees benefit the club’s activities. For additional information or to register a vehicle, call Jon Ross 217/351-2209 or visit the car show web page
