The Parkland College Foundation will hold a plaque unveiling and check presentation ceremony honoring rural community lender Farm Credit Illinois, on Wednesday, March 19.
The event will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Tony Noel Agricultural Technology Applications Center on west side of the Parkland campus. It will include remarks from foundation and college representatives as well as from members of Farm Credit Illinois leadership.
Commitment to education in agriculture led Farm Credit Illinois to provide a generous gift to the Parkland College Foundation. In response to the gift, the Parkland College Board of Trustees approved naming the lobby of the Tony Noel Ag Tech Center “The Farm Credit Illinois Lobby” in accordance with its naming policy, at its January meeting. A new lobby display will feature the plaque and company logo of Farm Credit Illinois.
“The Farm Credit Illinois gift will have a significant impact on providing beyond-the-classroom learning initiatives through Parkland’s Agriculture program,” said Linda Myette, executive director of the Parkland College Foundation, who accepted the donation on behalf of the college. “In addition, it will fund scholarships to students in the Agriculture Club and those enrolled in the Agriculture Credit and Finance course. We are grateful to Farm Credit Illinois for this visionary gift and look forward to our continued partnership.”
