Spotlight On.....Rena Moore |
Comfortable. That would be an appropriate description of how one feels upon meeting Rena Moore, Public Services Assistant/Audiovisual Services. Rena has an easy smile and an upbeat attitude about the challenges and opportunities presented by the position shes recently assumed in Audiovisual Services. Prior to August 1, she worked at Parkland Librarys circulation desk, a position she held for the past fourteen years. Rena enjoys the library environment, an interest that began while working in her high-school library while a student at Champaign Central. Rena was born and raised in Champaign and married her high-school sweetheart, Steve Moore. Together they have three children: Lance (28), Ryan (25), and Stephanie (22). Rena is settling into her position in Audiovisual Services and comments that she likes dealing with the public and instructors and enjoys challenges. She feels she is still learning and looks forward to the opportunities for developing new policies/procedures for Audiovisual Services. |
Rena's job requires keen organizational skills as she maintains the collection: arranging for instructors to preview materials, organizing reserve AV materials, making feature films available to patrons, providing access to Parkland telecourses, and ensuring that students have a comfortable environment for viewing or listening to audiovisual resources. When away from work, Rena enjoys walking, riding her bike, and dabbling in home decorating. Join us in welcoming Rena Moore, a familiar face at Parkland Library, to her new position in Audiovisual Services! |
