National Library Week

The library at Parkland College will be celebrating National Library Week April 1-7, along with other libraries across the United States.  This year's theme, @ Your Library, is designed to remind people that today's libraries are dynamic, modern community centers for learning.

The purpose of National Library Week is to bring public attention to the role of libraries in people's everyday lives.  The campaign is designed to showcase public, school, academic and special libraries across the United States, including Parkland's library.

Whether in person or online, the Parkland Library staff is pleased to assist students in achieving their education and personal goals.  The Library offers a relaxed, comfortable environment for study, research, and pleasure reading.

Throughout National Library Week, Library staff will be offering refreshments.  There will be exhibits about reading, libraries, and information technology.  The Library will also be giving away new books and other door prizes each day.  This is a great opportunity to stop by Parkland Library, ask questions of our friendly staff, and see the resources - both in print as well as online - that are available to you.

The Library staff would like to cordially invite you to visit the Library during National Library Week.

Shown at the right is one of several books donated by University of Illinois Press that will be given as door prizes during Parkland Library's celebration of National Library Week.
