Maria Dorofeeva, this year's Underwood-Alger
Scholarship recipient, exhibited ten works of
art including drawings using pen and ink,
charcoal, and colored pastel during
September. In addition, two other students,
Sheila Schneider and Sarah Holt had sculpture,
ceramics and jewelry on exhibit in the display
case. An artists' reception was held on
September 14 at the Library. We had a great
turnout to see the three artists' work.
The Parkland Art Gallery Annex at the Library is
now showing the work of Judy Seyb, Parkland art
student and contributor to the Parkland
Prospectus. Her work includes drawings and
paintings that reflect her studio classes in
addition to her extra-curricular activities as a
cartoonist for the college paper. This exhibit
runs through October 22, 2006.
Looking ahead
... The next show at the Parkland Art Gallery
Annex is Salon Des Refuses from October
24 through November 21. A reception will take
place on Thursday, October 26, at noon. Come by
and see the paintings!
