at the Library
Parkland
Library welcomes Pamela Colvin, our new Access Services
Assistant. Born and raised in Champaign, Pamela attended
DePaul University after graduating from Centennial High
School. Following graduation with a liberal arts degree she
was employed at DePaul University College of Law Rinn Library,
and her most recent position at DePaul was Circulation Manager. Pamela
is settling back into the community and enjoys reading and
watching movies during her spare time. Say "Hi" to
Pamela the next time you're at Parkland Library's Service
Desk.

Jeckel represented Parkland Library at the ILCSO Annual
Meeting on the University of Illinois campus.
~ Anna Maria Watkin and Raeann Dossett
attended the Learning Community
Conference, "Active
Voices," in Kansas City, Missouri. Raeann partnered with Beth
Eisenhauer (Parkland's English and Critical Studies
Department) to present "Active Reading, Active Research:
Creating a Portfolio to Build Background Knowledge" at
the conference.
~ Leah Broaddus attended "Effectively
Teaching ILLINET Online," an ILCSO Users Advisory Group
forum, at Heartland Community College in Normal. She also
participated in the 2004 LIBRAS program, "Information
Literacy 101" in Chicago.
~ Anna Maria Watkin participated in "LIS
Career Paths and the Professionals Who Walk Them," a program
for University of Illinois Graduate School of Library &
Information Science students who are contemplating the various
career paths available to them.
~ Nancy Bode attended a workshop at the ILCSO
office, "Using Microsoft Access to Create Reports from
Voyager."
