Louise
Woodroofe
A collection of paintings and collages by Louise Woodroofe was
displayed in the Library during the month of October.
Louise Woodroofe worked in Champaign and later taught at the
University of Illinois. During the 1930s she traveled with the
Ringling Brothers Circus, painting various scenes of circus
life. In the late 1940s she turned to abstraction, working
frequently in collage.
The
collection displayed in the Library was donated to the Parkland
Foundation by Jim Gallivan, owner of Boneyard Pottery and an admirer of Woodroofe's work.

ART
121 Students
Work by students in ART 121, Two Dimensional Design,
is currently on display in the Library.
The work represents four
projects where students were asked to create compositions that focus
on line, shape, value and texture. In this introductory design
class, students learn the elements of art and principles of design
by creating hand-drawn work in response to specific design problems.
The classes are taught by Joan Stolz and Ann Coddington Rast.
