Have you tried to find HealthInfo on FirstSearch
lately? Due to budget constraints, the Illinois State Library
is no longer offering access to that database which provided health
and wellness information. (Medline and CINAHL are still
available through FirstSearch.)
Never fear, however. There are
alternatives. We recommend you use EBSCOhost's Health
Source: Nursing / Academic Edition or Health Source: Consumer
Edition.
If you're unsure which database(s) would be
best for your research, give us a call, drop in, or email us at pro@parkland.edu

And the winner is
.....
..... Claire Drone-Silvers' entry was
selected at random from the 7 correct submissions in the "Guess
the Theme of These Books" display this summer. She
correctly identified OVERSIZE books as the theme and was awarded a
gift certificate to a local bookstore. Thanks to all who took
part in the contest.

September is "Library Card Sign-Up Month," and now is a
good time to remind everyone that your Parkland ID is your library
card. Our student
assistants must use your ID to check out Library materials. Parkland
IDs are issued by Student Life in X161A.

Looking for a class that's
- new
- different
- only one hour a week
- and will help you get through
your other courses?
Still puzzled about how to use all
those research databases listed on the Library's homepage?
Try LAS 111 "Information
Literacy." Taught by
Raeann Dossett, Instruction and Outreach Librarian, LAS 111 is a one
credit-hour course with no required textbook. Keep this course in mind
when registering for the
