Workshop

"Articles at Your Fingertips: Instructional Strategies and Techniques" workshop, will be offered to faculty on Monday, February 11, 2-4 p.m., in D-210.  Parkland Library has dozens of research databases containing information from a variety of sources.  This workshop will help you sort out the options and put these resources to work in your classes.
The workshop will be facilitated by librarians Raeann Dossett and Frances Drone-Silvers through the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.  Space is limited - faculty may register by calling Marsha at ext.3767.  For more information about the workshop, call Raeann or Frances at ext.2883.

Thank You ...

... to Ann Burke, Ken Urban, Jena Cadman, Seamus Reilly, and Mrs. Alfred Hecht for donating books which were added to the Library's collection.

A 'Net Tip

As most users of the Internet know, web pages have the annoying trait of moving ... the URL changes, and it can become frustrating to lose a helpful website.  If you've encountered this problem, you might find help at the Wayback Machine.  You enter the old URL (copy and paste - accuracy is important) and the Wayback Machine can sometimes identify the web site's new location.  It's worth a try the next time you encounter "The page cannot be found."

Income Tax Forms

Parkland Library has a variety of income tax forms available for you to pick up and use to file your taxes.  The forms are located near the Circulation Desk.  The 2002 editions of Ernst & Young Tax Guide and J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax are in the reference collection.  Additionally, tax forms may be downloaded from the IRS's website at http://www.irs.gov/forms_pubs/
index.html

Yahoo also lists likely links for federal tax forms:  http://taxes.yahoo.com/fedforms.html And if you are looking for state forms, Yahoo links to those as well:  http://taxes.yahoo.com/stateforms.html

Used Book Sale

Don't judge a book by its cover!  If you think you've already seen these sale books last fall, take another look.  The books on the sale carts near the Circulation Desk are all new ... relatively speaking.  The used books that remained on the sale tables from last fall were donated to an organization.
Included in this new crop of weeded material are books about computers and computer programs, nature and science, GED study guides, the military, paperback leisure reading, and much more.  Make your selections and pay at the Circulation Desk.  All money raised from the sale of weeded books returns to the Library budget to purchase more material.
