From the Suggestion Box
Suggestion:
How about one or two CD-R drives set up in the audiovisual center of the
Library for students, faculty, and staff to store photos or to make
personal audio CD recordings?
Solution: Thank you for your suggestion for installing CD-R
drives on a computer for student use in the Library. Since this
hardware would be used to copy, we feel that this may infringe on
copyright laws. At this time we do not plan on purchasing this
hardware. You may want to check with some of the computer labs on
campus to see if they have CD-Rs on their computers.
Suggestion:
Need a table by at least one of the copy machines in the Library for
sorting and collating. Right now students have to work on the floor
to organize papers for copying.
Solution: Thank you for calling our attention to the need for
sorting tables next to our copy machines. We have now provided a
table for one of the copy machines, and the other copy machine shares a
table with the scanner.
(Editor's note: Due to space constraints during the remodeling
project, tables for both copiers are not possible at this time.)
Suggestion:
It's too warm in here. Specially in the study area. Please
turn
the air conditioner on
or lower the temperature.
Solution: Yes, it can get very warm in the Library,
especially as we move into spring. Please do not hesitate to bring
this type of issue (and other facilities problems) to the attention of one
of the staff at the Circulation Desk. We will contact the Physical
Plant who will work to resolve the problem.
