Frances Drone-Silvers and Anna Maria Watkin attended the Illinois Library Association Conference in Springfield, October 16-19.  Sessions included "Customer Service in the Public Sector," "Privacy in the Information Age," "Best Practices in Information Literacy," and more.  Ray Bial attended the ILA exhibits at the Conference.
Lori Sprague attended the Fall Midwest Archives Conference meeting in Indianapolis.  One workshop was on the difficulty in finding outdated equipment to playback older film and audio materials.  Lori toured several museums including the Indiana State Historical Museum.
Janet Wilkinson, Rena Moore, Virginia Stout, and Gulya Fehr attended Reaching Forward South: Conference for Library Assistants in Springfield.  Topics ranged from personal development to specific library training.
Anna Maria Watkin attended a meeting of AAWCC (American Association of Women in Community Colleges) in Chicago.
Louis Kehinde participated in "First Impressions Last" conference for circulation managers at the University of Wisconsin.  One of the workshops focused on electronic reserves.
In October, Parkland Library hosted a librarian from Lake Land College Library, Mattoon, for their professional development day.
