 Orientation Festival

Parkland Library took an active part in this year's Orientation Festival.  Louis Kehinde staffed the Library, gave library tours, and assisted students in setting up their e-mail accounts so that they can use ORCA to access the research databases from off campus.

Meanwhile, Raeann Dossett and Anna Maria Watkin monitored the Library's display (designed by Lori Sprague) in the College's Gallery Lounge.  They provided information and hands-on opportunities using the Library web page.  Interested students and their families used a laptop to tour the many virtual resources and services available to Parkland students.  Of special interest were the research databases and their easy 24/7 access from on- or off-campus.

Suggestions & Solutions

The Library staff invites your comments and suggestions about any aspect of the Library.  A brand new Suggestions & Solutions board is now gracing the wall to the south of the Circulation Desk.

Alongside the board are suggestion cards and a secure box in which to deposit the completed cards.  Cards go directly to our Library Director, and she will give you a personal response if you indicate that on the card.  The cards and responses are displayed on the board to provide everyone with feedback on the comments.  The cards are pre-addressed and postage is pre-paid if you want to take a card with you and return it through the mail.

Your comments, good or bad, will help us improve Library services.  You may also send comments via the online Suggestion Box.  Stop by and give us your feedback.  We're happy to hear from you!
