The Veterinary Technology Club
Parkland’s Veterinary Technology Club is a student chapter of the North American Veterinary Technician Association. We are proud to have been named Club of the Year in 2004 and 2005 by Parkland’s Inter-Organizational Council. Each year, club members organize and participate in a variety of educational, social, fundraising, and community service activities. A partial list of past activities includes:

  • Field trips to Eli Lilly and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center
  • Collecting donated food and other supplies for area humane societies
  • Veterinary technician apparel sales
  • Donating food and gifts for needy families during the holidays
  • Awarding scholarship money to veterinary technician students
  • Bowling, ice skating, pool and other parties
  • Informational booths at the Pet Expo and U of I Veterinary Medicine Open House
  • Sponsoring guest lecturers
  • Participating in college activities such as the pumpkin carving contest and spring carnival
  • Hosting the Veterinary Technology Open House
  • Publishing the Parkland Vet Tech Yearbook
  • Organizing National Veterinary Technician Week activities
  • Maintaining an informational bulletin board about animal-related issues in the L-wing

The club holds business meetings about twice a month. For information on meeting times and location or how you can join, contact rbritz@stu.parkland.edu.
