The Parkland Advantage
The occupational therapy assistant program offers hands-on training in classrooms, labs, clinics, and hospitals. Our instructors are working professionals in the fields who give you the most up-to-date training. Our excellent reputation and strong connections with the health and educational communities helps you get employment. Clinical practice is a major strength of our program, with over 600 hours of supervised field work. You will work with children and adults in various settings—hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, extended care facilities, and community-based programs.

Placement assistance
Parkland College’s Career Center, 217/351-2536, receives notification of local, state, and nationwide job openings in this field and assists students in developing job search skills.

Dual credit for high school students

High school students may be able to take some of these courses for both high school and college credit prior to graduating from high school. Check with your high school counselor for further information.

Financial aid
