This program is accredited by the National League for Nursing accrediting commission. Upon graduation,
you will have acquired the skills to deliver care and to observe, assess, record,
assist, and instruct in a variety of health care settings.
You will attend nursing classes on campus and fulfill your clinical practice at area health care
agencies. Applying practice with theory, many nursing courses you take will involve approximately
five hours per week of clinical experience in hospitals and other agencies.
You can graduate from the program in two years as a full-time student. Flexible part-time schedules
are also options and may take three to four years to complete.
After earning the Associate in Applied Science degree (sometimes referred to as the Associate Degree
in Nursing or ADN), you will be eligible to take the RN examination for licensure (NCLEX-RN).
All health professions programs require a State Police background check prior to or at the start of the first course in a program. A positive finding related to a felony conviction may limit clinical placement and employment.
This is a selective admissions program and applicants are assigned an admission score based on ACT score, grade point average, and other criteria. To be admitted into the nursing program you must assess into ENG 101 (Composition I), MAT 108 or 124 (Introduction to Statistics or College Algebra), BIO 121 (Anatomy and Physiology I which requires a chemistry course or competency), and meet the minimum qualifying admission score.

You may apply for admission to this program for entry in either the fall or spring semester. For fall
admission, you must submit all credentials by March 1. The admission deadline for the spring semester
is October 1.
