Length of study
A full-time student can complete the A.A.S. degree in two years. Once it is completed, you will also be eligible to take the dietary manager examination, to receive a certificate from the Dietary Management Association—a bonus to the degree. Flexible part-time schedules are available for completing general education requirements.

Clinical practicum
You will complete 450 hours of supervised clinical practicum to complete the degree program, including clinical, community, and food service practice.

Entry requirements
All health professions programs require a State Police background check prior to or at the start of the first course in a program. A positive finding related to a felony conviction may limit clinical placement and employment.

Admission to the dietetic technician program is selective; applicants are assigned a score based on their ACT score, grade-point average, and other criteria. To be admitted, you must assess into freshman-level English, math, and science courses and meet the minimum qualifying admission score of 2.5. Note: Bachelor’s-degree holders may be eligible for placement into the program in the second or third semester.
