The
Diesel Power Equipment Technician
A Parkland partnership with
Cummins, Case, and New Holland.
Diesel power equipment technicians
repair and maintain equipment used in the agricultural, construction, and
motor truck industries. Working in dealerships and service centers, technicians
diagnose and repair equipment problems using state-of-the-art computers and
other high tech tools. Trained technicians also perform regular inspections
and routine maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and to avoid down
time. They may also be involved in extensive field diagnoses and repair of
diesel equipment on-site.
Diesel power equipment technicians work with all aspects of machinery including electrical systems, hydraulics, power trains, engines, and material handling components. They also repair non-mobile equipment such as generators and compressors, and non-motorized equipment like tillage, seeding, and material handling equipment. If you are mechanically inclined and interested in diesel-powered machinery, this may be a lucrative career path for you to explore.
