Specialized curriculum
This program prepares you for work in the residential/light commercial construction industry. You will gain a broad knowledge of business and construction practices, including scheduling, purchasing, estimating, plan reading, and specification interpretation. Your course work will include architectural drafting and design, carpentry, surveying, computer applications, and construction materials. Related business topics you will cover include salesmanship, marketing, accounting, bookkeeping, and human resource management. 

On-the-job training
During the summer semester field experience course, you will gain valuable real-world experience working as a paid employee in a construction firm. 

Length of study
This program has been designed for both full- and part-time students. You can complete this program with two years of full-time study, plus a summer semester of work experience.
