Specialized training program
In structural and civil drafting, you will learn to make complete drawings of residential and commercial buildings, including plumbing, heating, and electrical systems. You will draft plans for subdivisions, roads, bridges, and surveying projects, using knowledge gained through courses in CAD techniques, mathematics, construction, and human relations.
In mechanical design drafting, you will gain a thorough understanding of the components and materials that make up a mechanical system. Your coursework will include drafting fundamentals, design theory, mathematics, machine tools, electronics, and communications.

Length of study
Designed for both full- and part-time students, this program can be completed in two semesters of full- time study, or longer if on a part-time basis.

Entry requirements
No specific course work is required for entry. However, interest in shop skills and practices, mathematics, physical science, and mechanical drawing is helpful. Good communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and an eye for detail are also a plus.
