Progress Reports

Datatel Update
4-7-2008

Work continues on the implementation, with several of the teams hard at work.  The CORE, Financial, Accounts Payable/Purchasing, Curriculum/Instructional Management and HR/Payroll teams are working hard as they go through more training and consulting visits and they start to put information in to both the test and production accounts.  Gordon’s IT team is assisting these teams, while working on mapping of data for the conversion from the PLUS system to Colleague (not an easy feat).  The Web/Portal team had their discovery session last week, and Patrick and Gordon are currently in San Francisco learning about the administration of that system.  In addition you may see a new face on campus occasionally.  Roy Martin, our Datatel Project Manager is now engaged in the project, and will be on campus about every other week to assist us and make sure that we are staying on task and on track.  Roy has helped implement many of these systems, so will be a great asset to us as we continue through the project.

As we get further into the month of April, the ActiveAdmissions team will go through the launch of their work (April 8-9), and the Admissions team will begin their training to work toward an October “Go Live” date for those modules.  We are still on track for a July 1 “Go Live” for Colleague Financials, and also are working to have that part of the Portal ready for launch to allow us to look at budgets, etc.

We are currently scheduled through January 2009 with additional dates being added almost daily, so if you don’t see much of some of your colleagues it is probably because they are in training or consulting.  As I mentioned in my remarks in January, be kind to each other.  Spirits are high and we continue to work to “Git-R-Done”, and we will.  More later.
