Try our one-credit-hour tutorials to supplement or prepare for chemistry, reading, writing, and math courses. You can even complete some developmental courses using CAS modules. Come to D120 to find out more.
The Center of Academic Success offers one-credit hour courses. These courses have one of the following course prefixes: ALM, ALN, ALR, and ALW. Students receive course credit and a grade for each credit earned. These courses are financial-aid eligible. There are two kinds of one-credit hour courses: (1) Tutorials; and (2) Modules.
Tutorials
CAS offers a variety of one-credit hour supplemental tutorials.
Click here for more information on Spring 2008 Specialized Tutorials.
To register for tutorials, see a member of the CAS Advising/Planning team (D 120) or the Counseling and Advising Center (A 251). Interested international students should see Erin Johnson, Asst. Director, International Student Services (X114).
Modules
Modules are one-credit hour courses for developmental coursework completion. These courses are designed to help students who need to repeat developmental courses (CCS 099, ENG 098, ENG 099, MAT 094, MAT 095, MAT 097, and MAT 098) and/or face some learning challenges in acquiring the level of reading, writing, and math skills needed. Modules are self-paced within limits, so that a student who is repeating, say, a CCS 099 course, may work really hard, put in extra hours, and complete course requirements by mid-term. Alternatively, a student who needs a longer time to really understand and master the material of, say, MAT 095, may take two semesters to meet course requirements.
For more information about modules and whether you are eligible for them, see Pam Lau, Director, CAS (D120) or email her at plau@parkland.edu.
